According to Piggott, the clamp type continued to be used for all non-USA
markets until the end of production.  If your car is not US-spec, you may
have the right rims after all.

Also note that the headlight bucket changed as well, the bucket for the
split rims did not have the clip for the clip-on rims.  At one time you
could buy the clips to convert a clamp-type bucket, but I don't know if you
still can.
