Hi,
I have a set of SU HS4 on my 80 Spitfire that work great. My airfilters are
are held on with at bolt that goes clear throught the air cleaner and the
mounting tabs on the carbs and then fastened with nuts. Recently, I noticed
that on another car there is no nut on the back so the carbs must be threaded
for the bolts. On my carbs there is no indication of threads.
So my question is, are my carbs unusual? Or, are the inserts of some kind that
provides the threads? It would be nice to not have to mess with he nuts,
They are kind of a pain to get in place and hold onto.
