Steve:
If it isn't a dirty filter or mis adjusted actuating valve,
check for foreign matter in the operating valve. I got a
metal sliver in mine a few years ago and it made all sorts
of weird things happen. And be careful about removing those
plugs on the bottom, some of them have springs and ball
bearings in them that are meant to be installed with the
overdrive unit upside down on a bench. They can be reinstalled
from the bottom, but you don't want to do it if you don't
have to, trust me.
