Gaskets 4 Clutch and Brake M/C? x-mac-creator="4D4F5353"

Can someone tell me if gaskets are used between the clutch and brake
master cylinder  and the firewall?  Seems odd to just attach them metal
to metal without some buffer. Catalogs I've looked over don't specify
anything.
