1972/73 were the 1st years for emissions in the U/S becoming more stringent,
1974 the cata. converters started into being, this was a hugh draw back on
all imports as well as new cars in this country, also remember 74 was the
first year for seat belt contraints being connected from the seats to the
ignition switch, so I think all imports coming to this country had many
manufacturing problems getting cars ready for the US market.  "FT"
