FW: Broken crankshafts

Mine went when the #4 piston went, the connecting rod bent in half and my
guess is it jammed in between part of the block and the crank, the other 3
cyls hammered it downwards and that was all she wrote (rod pics-

couldn't get a shot of the crank though. It gave out in front of the rear
journal- don't think its a design flaw however... *grin*
That's what I get for trying to outrun a TR6 with a Spitfire!

I haven't broken one personally, but I know several local people that have
(one brought the rear main journal to a meeting for 'show and tell').
However, they were consistently exceeding 5k, and for extended periods of
time.
