I removed the dust boots on my 6 years ago with no problems. actually I
think that the boots caused a heat build up at the u-joint that may have led
to premature failures. I don't seem to be replacing them as often sans
boots.

I'm aware that TR250's and TR6's came with dust boots (or covers) to protect
the u-joints that lead outward on either side of the differential. I think
they were not used on TR4A's. Should I retrofit a pair? It's never seemed

me an area that's in particular need of a dust boot.
