My TR3A owner's manual specifies the same lube for gearbox and diff: 90W EP/Hypoid (80W if < 30* F). There are some vehicles that do not do well in the long run with hypoid in the gearbox but I have never heard that TRs are among them. Seem to recall some TR owners running engine oil in the gearbox, but living in a very warm climate I've never been tempted to go that route. AFAIK, anything other than EP/Hypoid in the diff = disaster. Geo Hahn 59 TR3A |
