HELLOOO LISTERES, Well yesterdays glum mood turned into shear delight
tonight. The engine that I've just rebuilt has fired for the first time in
close to fifteen years. THANK YOU POWER BRITISH for not assuming anything
and pointing me in the right direction. My rebuilt starter motor was indeed
the culprit for the engine refusing to turn yesterday. I had already figured
that I was going to have to tear down the engine again to find a spun
bearing or something equally tragic. I think its mildly amusing that a
rebuilt starter that started the car when I took it apart quit while a
starter motor that has sat in a junkyard for fifteen years and looks
terribly nasty spun the engine with no undue stress! Of course it is funny
now but yesterday............ Anyway the engine sounds great idles fairly
smoothly. I still have some tuning to do but at last I'll be able to ask
this list what to do if my thing a ma jig leaks this or what do you do if
the flay rod is askew from the treadle or what not. I could go on forever
but I'll stop now. Just suffice it to say that at this moment I'm feeling
pretty good. So good in fact I think I'll go and enjoy some of my favorite
malted beverage. Regards Craig Bentley
