Tom,

I've driven the general route (mostly I44 and I40) in a truck year brfore
last (87)
and I found a neat little map published by POR-MAP in California. The
problem
is that I found them in Needles, Cal. when the trip was almost over. But
now I
have a map. Actually, I have two and I framed one. The information on the
map
is a little sparse but between the map and the road signs (yes the states
have
recognized the tourism angle) you will do quite well.

If we were West German we would all have 6 weeks of holiday (Vacation) and
taking this trip wouldn't involve forgoing the VTR and other holiday
attractions.
My dream trip is to leave St. Louis and travel Route 66 to California where
I would
take Route 1 up the coast to the Washington/Oregon region. Then I would
follow
the Columbia river and the Missouri river retracing the steps of Lewis and
Clark
back to St. Louis. This would take 3 weeks minimum. And I only get 2.
Time
for a sabatical (I wish)

Life is too short to drive the interstates.
