Tom - I bought a simple cut-off switch at the local flea market.  It
fastens on the ground side of the battery and the grounding strap
fastens on to it.  It has a green knob that you turn to connect or
disconnect battery.  I think I paid $3 for it but I have seen the same
thing for up to $7.  Nothing fancy but it works.
