Sounds like you've had some tinkering done - how long have you owned the
car? I've had my '76 (CF 55400 U) since 1979, and all the pollution c**p is
still in place. I'm not up on engine # vs commission #, but I do have my
BMIHT trace cert. at home & can take a look tonight. 10k apart sounds like a
lot for a difference - are you sure that's the original motor? Regarding the
2-grove pulley, is there an extra ½" or so space between the pulleys with a
bevelled edge, or just a separator? There are 2 types for the later series.

Subject: Air pumps on TR6s
To all
My 76 TR6 (CF57005U) does not have an air pump or manifold that has
provisions for the air injection tubes. The catalog from TRF (plate
BY),
shows that after engine number CF35000 the exhaust manifold should
be
drilled and tapped for air injection. The engine number for my TR6
is
CF47004UE. Does this mean some DPO removed the original manifold
(and air
pump and related parts) and replaced it, or did the factory make
some
engines with the older style manifold without air injector taps?
BTW, the
water pump pulley does have two grooves.
