Brian,

I CAN'T GET MY @)*#(#@()U#@ WINDSCREEN OFF!! I don't know what the hangup
is. I did as both the Haynes and Bentley manuals said (remove the 3 bolts,
loosen the posts but don't remove, remove the nut and washers). I got it to
wiggle really well, but I think that is because I removed all of the
weatherstripping (it needed to be removed, it is 30 years old). What am I
missing? Does that area tend to rust together? I sprayed WD40 on the threads
and on the post bracket where the threads go in, I pounded on the bolt with
a hammer (with nut attached so that I wouldn't booger up the threads), but
all to no avail. What am I missing?

I did, however, manager to BREAK my WINDSHIELD! :-((( I am still sick
about that. I was being very careful (I thought). Just as I was getting
ready to move the screwdriver to the next point about 2 inches down the
strip, CRACKKK! Now I have to spend another $200-250 that I didn't think I
would have to spend. I did learn a valuable lesson, though: be very, very
careful even when (maybe especially when?) you are being careful.

I took the sound deadening out last night. The car is soooo clean! The back
floor boards look just like they did when they came off of the line--not one
speck of rust; solid; beautiful white.

A couple of questions:
1. HELP WITH THE WINDSCREEN!

2. I was able to pull the fascia and instruments last night. Not very hard,
but the control panel (heater, choke, ignition switch): how do I remove the
knobs? Bentleys (Haynes says nothing on this) says to push the knobs forward
and remove. Huh?! This didn't work. Do the knobs screw on?

3. Does the steering column adjust (in most particularly)? I ask because the
original wheel was probably in a pretty flat plane; the one I have (and I
will keep it in, because it looks so cool) bulges out about 3 inches or
more. I have more than enough leg room, and the wheel doesn't poke my gut,
but I feel like I could steer with my teeth. Any suggestions?

I would appreciate any help or insights you may have...

Thanks.
