Peter, I checked my jack today and found only the eyelet and about one inch of
thread(near the eyelet) to be painted black, the threads appear to have never
been painted beyond that one inch point. As i mentioned my jack is from a 76
TR6 and is green in color, the hinge bolts are also painted black and the jack
has the Tangye Shelley, made in England sticker still on it so it has seen
very little use. Hope this is of help to you and others on the list.
