My TR6 decided to develop a miss this morning on the way to work. At idle the
speed drops down (about 200 RPM) for just a half a second and then it recovers.
It also seems to be a cyclical kind of miss....predictable almost in the timing
of when it is going to drop out. It happens at all speeds (you get a slightly
perceptible herky-jerky in all gears) and at all operating temperatures (cold
with the choke on and hot with it off).

I haven't gotten home to put the dwell/tach meter on it but at this point I'm
thinking its more ignition related than carburetor related. I went out at lunch
and bought points, condenser (actually two since I don't have an emergency one
yet), a rotor, and a distributor cap just in case I need to start plucking
components. Any suggestions on which should be the first candidate to check or
replace? I'm going to check the timing along with the dwell to see if there's
been some change since I last checked it. Probably look at the plugs and gap
next (I have new plug wires). And then on to ignition components.

Based on my meager description do you think I'm on the right track? Any
suggestions?

Thanks
