There are four wires attached to the immer switch - blue, blue/red, blue
white, and purple. Blue carries power from the headlight switch, and the
blue/red carries power to the low beams. Since the low beams work we only have
to look at the purple and the blue/white wires.

You said the high beams don't come on when you pull the switch - what happens
when you move the switch down? Pulling the switch forward connects the purple
wire (which is hot all the time) to the blue/white wire, while moving the
switch down connects the blue wire to the blue/white wire. 

If the hi beams work when the switch is moved down, but not when it is pulled
forward, then you have either a break in the purple wire or its connectors, or
a blown fuse. You can verify this by placing a voltmeter or test lamp on the
purple wire at the switch. If everything is ok, there will be 12 volts here at
all times, key on or not.

If the hi beams don't work with either switch position, then there is a break
in the blue/white wire or its connectors, somewhere between the switch and the
lights. To verify this, look for 12 volts on the blue/white wire with the
switch in each position. In the forward position, there should be 12 volts at
all times. In the downward position, there should be 12 volts only if the main
headlight switch is in the on position.

It is also possible that the switch itself is bad, or there is a break in both
wires, or a combination of all three, so you may have to repeat the tests to
get all the problems solved.
