Will,
if it's only the CO that's high, then I suggest You use about
a gallon of fuel [for the test only!] comprising ~65-75% high
octane petrol and ~25-35% pure 96% alcohol.
I do it every year with my trusty old VW [with ~200 000 miles
on it] and every time get virtually no CO at all.
See to it that the engine is warm when You pour the mix in
the virtually empty tank - otherwise it will probably not
start on that lean mix... And fill the tank full when the
test is done with petrol.
[It's a well known idea over here and widely used also in high
compression, high performance engines to make them pass at
all... Not only in worn out old bangers like mine...]
