Listers,
OK, so I have decided to buy new wires for my TR3B. I know the TR2/3
had 48 spoke wheels from the factory. Were the 60 spoke wheels
optional? For safety's sake, I am going to go with the 60s, I just
wonder how far off my car will be in terms of originality. Also, were
chrome wires available when these cars were new? Or just painted
ones? Believe it or not, my WIFE keeps assuring me that buying the
chrome 60 spokers is the way to go (and she knows how much they cost!)
But the tightwad in me keeps leaning toward the cheaper painted
wheels. I can convince her to go the painted route if the chromies
were never available on the TR3B, as our car is a 66K mile original
and we wish to keep it as close to stock as possible. (An extra 12
spokes isn't that obvious, but chrome certainly is!)
Thanks for any and all info and responses!
