Obviously you don't see the problem. If the car has only 35,000 original
miles on it then it is still "new" not broken (in) In order to run cooler,
I completely dissambled my 75 spitfire and scraped off three cruddy paint
jobs-including the original baby-sh*t yellow-installed a new (well rodded
out type new, anyway) radiator, hoses, "puller" electric fan sans
thermostat,
and new interior, paint, suspension, and nifty euro-whitney air horns
(which work as well as the VB door sills-NOW I see what you guys were
talking about!)

Still runs at 1/4 to 1/2 hot on the gauge-when it runs at all.
If it does'nt boil over in traffic or otherwise embarass you in public,
then I'd leave it alone. :-) You too will eventually strip the paint off
the car and discover why "wet" and "sanding" should never be used in the
same sentence. Remember in Perfidious Albion, 70 deg. is a heat wave.
They design for what they know.
rick stieg 75 Spitfire (on the chocks, again. sigh)
