If you can't undo them by solvents or gently pushing them out, and have to
physically force (hammer, press) them out, you risk damaging the very close
tolerances by which these are machined.  If, when you force them out, AND
you scratch the surfaces of the piston to dashpot/topcover area, then they
will pretty much be useless, and won't function properly- On the other
hand, they are pretty much useless now-so (as a last resort) what have you
got to lose?
