The "front cover" or "sleeve" used with the diaphragm clutch is shorter than
the early, non-diaphragm, type. The only other difference within the bell
housing is the throwout, a.k.a. release, bearing. The sleeve is the same
length as that on the TR6, so there should be plenty around with which to
replace it if yours is the early (long) type. Use of the early type with a
diaphragm clutch usually results is a deep groove being worn on the nose of
the "sleeve".
