I take the mark as TDC. And I set my timing at 3000 rpm. - This
was before o/d was installed. I will probably figure out what is 60 mph
and base it on that.

        Hi,
This may be a silly one but I haven't found the answer in any of
my
books yet. Is the hole or mark on the crank pully of the TR3 Top
Dead
Center or is it 4 degrees before TDC? What method do you prefer
for
timing? Would you just time it to the marks? In the Moss catalog
they
say to adjust for max RPM then back off 100 RPM. There is the
road test
method. Find the point under load that you hear pinging and back
off of
that or go for best time in top gear from 2500 to 5000 RPM. This
is what
I used to do with a Trans Am I drag raced.
        Cheers,

        Mike Thompson
