I'll build on what Joe says...I had poor grounds at the crimps on the bulb
sockets, and they were not visually corroded. But a chemical called
"De-Oxit", sold here in the USA (at electronics stores) to clean
connections on ICs, restored the ground paths for me at the bulb sockets.
