Spitfire 1500 Rear-end

quick question:
i'm attacking the re-end of my '79 Spit, most specifically the rear leaf
spring and differencial...  The leaf is simple shot and the differencial
has a leak near the left side axle flange....

i've already removed the diff from the underside of the car was planning
to replace all of the seals myself...   Has anyone had any problems with
this or would you suggest an complete overhaul at my local shop?
