Martin,

The UK cars did have some differences in the lens colors - side
rear marker lenses were amber and the front indicator lights are
a split amber/clear (running lights) as opposed to US spec which
are all amber - not sure why they were like this as the amber/clear
combination looks great. In fact, the late TR6s with the small
front bumper-mounted lights are an amber/clear split.

As I continue to research originality of my TR6, I have discovered a new
curiosity regarding taillight lens configuration. Specifically, the
"sidemarker portion" of the assembly that wraps around onto the side of
each rear fender. As I reviewed Piggot's Original TR book, I noticed
that all cars pictured had amber sidemarker lenses. My car, however,
has red. (The turn signal portion is amber, but the side lens is red.)
Red is also what TRF, for example, sells - no amber listed.

Were the amber lenses on the UK cars only, and red installed on US
market cars?
