Chris,

I used to know an old time mechanic that would remove king pins (that's how
old this is) by pouring a bottle of warm coke on it.  You could pound on
them for hours, heat them to a glowing white, nothing.  Pour a bottle of
coke over the top, go have lunch, and it would be lying on the floor when
you got back.

  However, the secret ingrediant that did this magic was removed in one of
the re-formulations that coke was forced to do for the health and safety of
the nation.  This tidbit goes back to the '50's.
