This is probably a pretty naive question, but here goes: Just how generic are overdrives? I've seen lots of references to J-type Laycock de-Normanville overdrives on Volvos. Are these similar to the o/d's on Triumphs? Used ones appear to go for $250-$350 US. I've been unsuccessful at finding specifics on my own.
