Axle shaft question

I am getting ready to replace all the u joints in my 69 TR6, but am confused
on one point.  On the axle shafts my catalogs show two u joints on each
shaft, but my Bentley only shows one and never reveals what's under the cowl
on the diff end of the axle shaft.  Logic says there has to be two on each
shaft, but I want to verify that before I plan further. TIA
