Likely, this is venting of ring blow-by and is normal (to an extent)

You may have some residual coolant in the oil.  If you changed the oil
when the engine was cold, the coolant likely had separated and was under
the iol (oil floats on water).  Draining the oil will leave small
amounts of coolant in the recesses of the pan.  Remove the valve cover
and see if there is a film of homogenized oil/woater micture clinging to
the insides of it.  If the leak has been stopped and you still have
coolant in the oil it will show up as a milky color after the engine
warms up.  Change the oil when the engine is hot and the coolant has
thoroughly mixed with the oil.  It may take a few more oil changes to
purge all the coolant from the oil system.

James,The problem sounds to me like it is related to the carburetor.  It
may be that something in the unit is either worn or clogged.  Have you
inspected it thoroughly?
