John, righto. SAE will do it. One caveat - as I said in my post - watch out
for metric nuts, bolts or screws which a previous owner (called DPO) or
mechanic might have used as a replacement during a repair. I have found a few
on my car and I make it a habit to set them right so that I don't find myself
somewhere in the middle of the night trying to make a roadside repair and not
having the right tools (I don't carry metric tools in my Triumph).

Back in the '60's there were very few "foreign" cars in the US. I remember
that if one went to a hardware or auto parts store, one found only SAE tools.
But as the '60s wore on and the Japanese car "invasion' picked up speed, the
call for metric tools increased until today one sees both kinds of tools side
by side on the shelves. And I've noticed that the ratio of metric sets to SAE
is tipping in favor of the metric. Of course, that's because more and more
autos are being built to the metric standard.

Cheers.
