Barry,
It has been my experience that the VB type do not seal the gap to the
door as well due to the materrial and the diameter of the seal. If you want
the more original form then get some from TRF. They will be larger and a
more flexible rubber instead of plastic.
Just so you know I am in the process of sending my TRF parts back for
replacement as the rubber is splitting after being on the car for one month.
I have a feeling the material is old. They are warrantied for a year so if
you go this route be sure to keep the receipt.

Subject: Door Trim/Seal

I'm about to complete the interior restoration on my 74 Spitfire. One of
the few things remaining to be done is to renew the door trim/seals (I'm
referring to the long trim/seal that is applied to the door opening). The
old seals were of the "furflex" type and that's what I'm using to replace
them with (I got them from VB page 61). However, the new trim/seals are
somewhat dissimilar to the old ones. That is, the grove on the seal that
fits over the flange of the door opening appears to be quite shallow
compared to the old trim/seal

Has anyone recently installed these on their car? If so, any advice or
suggestions would be appreciated.
