I just took the carpet out of mine. I didn't have any horsehair material,
just padding attached to the front carpets only. The cables were in the
channel running fore and aft in the driver's side of the cokpit. The rear
doesn't get stepped on at all. I assume (I know) thats the reason the
front carpets are padded and rears are not. I am the second owner and
believe the carpets to be completely original.

In the wiring channels on the driver?s side of my car was a whole bunch of
astuff,a which I?m inclined to think was just accumulated detritus. But it
had this weird sort of ahorsehaira kind of feel to it, making me wonder if
it actually was some kind of padding meant to soften the blow of feet from
above?
Anyway, I guess my question is just this: do the wires sit just on the
metal floorpans, or in a padded channel? I putting in carpeting WITH
padding, so that alone is enough, right?
