I am seeking some group wisdom here on my options regarding the
engine in my TR4.

For the past few years, the car has had low (i.e., 10 psi) oil
pressure at hot idle. Recently, I dropped the oil pan and pulled two
of the connecting rod caps to inspect the rod bearings. I found that
both bearings were worn (the "copper" surface was nearly gone on one
of them) and scored. What was more troubling, however, was that both
journals have what feel like ripples on the surfaces. These are
evident when I run my finger nail from side to side on the journal.
I have concluded that the crank will need to be reground, and plan to
pull the engine this weekend.

My question is, what else should I do while the engine is out of the
car? The head was redone two years ago, and compression is 160 - 165
psi. I have reason to believe the pistons are original -- don't know
about the rings. For reference, the car gets 1200 - 2000 miles a
year of in town use.

I figure the following are no brainers:
- Regrind crank to least oversize possible
- Oversize main and rod bearings
- Oil pump (as per recent thread)
- Front seal
- Timing chain and tensioner
- Clutch assembly
- Pilot bearing
- Balance crank and clutch assembly
- Replace any hoses, etc. that look questionable

I am also considering a 87 mm piston/liner set, but the additional
$5-600 for parts is sobering, especially since the compression is
apparently good.

I noted some light pitting on one of the camshaft lobes. Should I
assume that it will need to be replaced? What about the cam bearings?

How about the rear oil seal conversion kit? It would be nice to
reduce the seepage/drippage rate, but another $100 plus machine work
will add to the financal pain.

I appreciate any thoughts/comments/suggestions.
