Thanks for the input Joe, Tom, and others on the list, the problem is I have
two different trailing arms:

The right side is as shown in TRF's red book, with the "t" shaped pedestal
protruding up on which you connect the rubber cone. The Left arm has a circular
dish cast in the arm at approx.  the same location as the aforementioned
pedestal. It appears as if this dish is set up to be struck by a rebound cone
attached to the body, at least that is my guess. There are no treaded holes in
the arm or any indication that something is to be mounted on the arm. 

I believe the left arm is off some other LBC, which one I'm not sure. Once I
figure that out I can probably rig up some sort of bumper system to work. the
real question is how does this "wrong " trailing arm affect the geometry of my
rear suspension and if so do I need to replace it.
