I one let a VW gas tank sit for 2 weeks before attempting to repair it.
Although I could smell no fumes, and had washed it out a dozen times, it
*STILL* put out a puff of flame when I started to weld.

On my TR3 tank, it had been rotted out for 20 years, but still had some
stuff on the inside that caught fire when I used a torch on it.

Gas tanks are dangerous.
