Hi to all interested,

Hi Jeff, my tuppence guess:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
run for a second at about a thousand revs before losing several
hundred revs. After this drop, it'll pick back up and do it again. This
will happen several times
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
check for air-leakage around the manifold at the flanges

There are two (at least) good/easy ways for checking. Either with a kind of
"pump and spray" bottle filled with soapy water, or even better with a spray
that is here called: Start Pilot. I'm pretty shure, you got something similar.
As far as I know these are filled with ether.
With the soapy water, you look for bubbles, but most of times, air is sucked
into the "engine" so better use the second...
If you use ether-spray, sucking-leaks are easy determined, because if this
stuff
is sucked, the RPM increase directly.

If there are different methods, friends, keep us informed!

Hi Stuart,
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The gas should be about 1/16" below the bridge
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I had this in mind too, but remember, where it is from, couldn't find it in the
Haynes. Could you shed some light on it.
And, how did you determine it? Think you can't look into the jet!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
major problems with Grose jets
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Is there someone who can tell an ignorant german how these jets can be
identified?
Over here we just buy jets...no name...sometimes a plastic-bag with a MOSS sign
on...!
I'm afraid some of our discovered trouble could be caused by those g jets!

<<<<<<<<To all again:<<<<<<<<<

Now a question about needles:
I allready got the suneedle.exe file from the sol-server, seems to work fine ,
but one old question came up to me again, which is not covered (maybe I'm
unable
to find it)in the manual nor in the Haynes-Carb book.

Needles are determined by 16 points along their shanks!
>>>What is the distance between 2 of these points, or what is length of a
>needle
with 16 Positions???<<<

Thanks in advance for every answer!

BFN
