Dear Scions,

My 1980 TR7 has started to make noise from the CV joints in the propeller
shaft. Mine appears to have CV joints at both front and rear instead of
universal joints.

I have just read the Haynes manual and it says: "If wear is detected in the
constant velocity joint(s), a replacement propeller shaft will have to be
obtained since no repair is possible".

I can't believe this is so - it just seems ridiculous!!!LBC but hate the
engineer who designed this feature of the tailshaft.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Is there a way to convert the shaft to
the universal type?

Here in Australia, I think the chances of finding a brand new shaft are
slightly worse than Buckleys. I imagine the freight cost of shipping the
entire shaft from Rimmers will be exorbitant.

HELP PLEASE
