A couple years ago I removed the rear taillight assemblies from my '71 TR6.
Replaced seals and broken/worn lenses. The Body-to-housing seals were
attached to the housing with a yellow Weatherstrip Adhesive. It's available
from 3m, referred to as "the yellow stuff" by my bodyman. Works very well.
To get the old stuff off, use 3m all purpose cleaner from TRF or your local
NAPA. Great stuff. For the seals between the lenses and the housing, I
glued them to the housing only. Just pressure from the screwed-on lenses
will seal water out of the lenses or lights themselves, as done at the
factory.

While the lights are off, you may want to replace the back-up lenses with new
ones. In addition to cleaning the other lenes well, the new back-up lenses
will make the entire assembly look brand new. This was a fun and rewarding
project.

Best of Luck,
Kevin D. O'Connor
