debris worked into the clutch surface in the past, and the car has been
sitting for some time, as you suggest, it's likely that the driven disc
is stuck to the either the pressure plate or the flywheel. Sometimes
it's caused by miscellaneous goo somewhere, or the metal parts rust
sufficiently that the rust grows into the pores of the clutch facing.

In neutral, with the engine running, try letting your foot slip off the
clutch so you get some velocity to the disengagement, or bounce the
clutch pedal a little. Sometimes there's nothing to be done except to
physically pry the plate from the surface onto which it is stuck.

If you have enough room around the weep hole in the bellhousing, have
someone push the pedal down, so the pressure plate is released, and get a
long, very thin-blade screwdriver and work the plate loose, if there's a
place where you can see the edge of the disc exposed.

May help.
Cheers.
