I don't know about 1/4-mile times or speeds, but the LeMans Spitfires
(1147cc, eight-port heads, dual Webers, etc.) were capable of over
130mph on the Mulsanne straight. 1/4-mile times were probably better
than stock Spitfires as well. ;-)
