Bill, Simple Green works very well and does no damage - just follow the
directions. Sometimes I "cut" it with water as the bottle reads and
sometimes, depending on how soiled the compartment is, I use it full
strength. Never had a problem. Oh. I use paper towels to wipe off the Simple
Green and then flush with water.
As for the body - I have found that Liquid Glass is the best wax I have EVER
used. I have been using it for about 8 years on all my cars. They also have
a "soap" and a cleaner/pre-wax which are really great. I get my supply of
these from a dealer in Florida but I originally got them from the company
itself. They are located in NJ. But I know that it is available at Classic
Car Accessory places. Sorry but I don't have the address with me - but could
get it if you are interested.
If I can be of further help - don't hesitate. I have no vested interest in
those products - I just am very satisified with them.
