Funny, Mark, I don't remember YOU waving to me at either the 1986 or
1989 conventions; must have been Bob? ;-)

Somewhat more modestly, though, since the 1989 VTR Convention, when no
less than Triumph LeMans team driver Mike Rothschild himself took Rik's
and my RaceSpit 4 [tm] out onto the autocross course, I'll drive our car,
imagining myself in Mike's shoes as it were, roaring down the Mulsanne
straight at LeMans. However, the image is often shattered by some guy in
a Ford slipping past, while English subtitles run at the bottom of the
screen and that insipid theme music keeps repeating:

Dah Dah Dah Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah

etc.*

Who knows? Maybe we'll wave at each other in Albany this summer.

*If you've never seen "A Man and a Woman," I think it's Mike's LeMans
Spitfire you see briefly, wrecked and forlorn on the course. I could be
wrong, though. Let me know....
