Dean Mericas asked about the LTD stud on the frame for the passenger
seat.

Dean you are right about the use of that stud. My 62 TR4 came with the
factory tonneau cover and the passenger seat is as you described.

The strap that attaches to the stud is made of the same material as the
tonneau and is approximately 1" wide. The strap is folded over on
itself so that both sides are the same as the finished surface of the
tonneau. The other end of the strap attaches to the tonneau cover via
two rivets.

I assume that the purpose was to keep the tonneau from flapping in the
breeze at speed when only the driver's side was open but this never
seemed a problem either because the tonneau was stretched so tightly or
I could never get enough speed ;-)!

Hope this helps.
