Water invasion over the top of the Windscreen frame is usually a sign of
a "tired" gasket. The gasket is easily replaced as it fits into a channel
in the soft top frame. New gaskets do not cost very much. My wife used to
get a "wet lap" from my old Spitfire until I replaced its soft top and
fitted a new gasket during that process. Water still came in from the
sides over the side windows, but not over the windshield. My present
Spitfire has a DPO bodge that did not have a gasket... used some self-stick
foam and leaked badly over the frame. I installed some self stick window
gasket from the local hardware store (DIY shop for you UKers) to the soft
top frame (see hokie ASCII drawing below) until I replace the top and
reinstall the missing channels and fit a proper gasket. My bodge works
ever so much better than the DPO's!

No you are not a wimp... when we *WANT* to get wet, we leave the top
*DOWN*, when we want to only be *DAMP* we put the top up!
