As for leaks, I had a similar problem with my 72 Spit which I solved
by running two strips of double sided foam tape, sold for sealing
pickup truck caps to the truck bed, across the top of the windshield
frame. No leaks in two years.

Good Afternoon folks,

Having spent this weekend in the Yorkshire dales with the hood down (yes the
sun was shining), I was impressed with the handling of the spit. around the
country lanes, especially when I sorted out the tyre preassures.

Returning home on Sunday night, I was less than impressed by the general lack
of visiblity caused by the torrential rain, coupled with the poor headlamps.

Firstly, has anybody fitted the halogen conversion kit...and how good is the
improvement?

Secondly, as mentioned, I was stuck on the motorway in torrential rain, with
the soft top letting in more than I would like. I expect the odd tear and poor
fitting parts to let a little water in, but was suprised by the amount of water
coming in under the front of the hood, sneaking under the front of the frame.
(Mostly onto my wife, adding to my misery.)

Does anybody have any tips to reduce water invasion...or does anybody have a
spare hard top for sale (pref B.R.G. to avoid the need for a respray)?

Call me soft, call me a whimp, or preferably, call me with a solution.

Thanks,

Chris.
