Paul,
Hope I didn't overdo it trying to explain why a water pump leaks with
the engine off.
The Morey's come in a plastic quart bottle. It's real thick like STP
but much better. I put it into the trans of my 68 GT6 when it started
making noises about two years ago. The car is driven almost daily, or at
least it was, and the lay gear finally gave it up. Bearings and synchros
still in good condition but since the lay gear is no longer available,
I am replacing teh trannie with a newly rebuilt on which I am
expecting on Thursday of this week.
I am also replacing the rear end. Going to put in a 3:2:7 and take out
a 4.1.1. Should increase road speed considerably.
You mentined TRF. Charles Runyan was recently on line. His e-mail add:
COVCAR@aol.com
That is (I believe) his personal address and not an info or order
line.
The TR4 I have was originally sold in Mexico City. I am the third
owener. Britcarz were extremely popular in Mexico in their heyday as
they are today.
My proximity to the Border allows me to catch a glimpse of some pretty nice
old Britiron. Triumphs are still very much in demand in Mexico, and there
seems to be a reasonable supply of parts. Only problem with parts is you
can't
get'em across the border. Too many fees and duties.
Good luck on the water pump.
Tony R.
