OK, so we have a company that was not wildly profitable (otherwise it would probably not have been for sale), a model that was not selling in large numbers, which was powered by a competitor's engine, which was going to have to be redesigned to meet the '68 regs. And, I believe I read somewhere that in the same period Rootes was investing in a new sedan factory, which had much more promise of future income. So, with all that, is it any wonder that the Tiger got flushed? Stu |
