I had that problem on my =9266 with the same set up and ended up with =
adding an extra diode as the current was =93dirty=94 and there was some =
interesting feedback in the circuit. Third alternator worked great =
after that mod.
Eventually I ended up changing over to a GM 10si single wire for other =
reasons and did not have the same problem either.

So Trevor, I think the answer to your question is that the bearings will =
fail before the electronics. The output of an alternator is a straight =
line once it gets up to speed and stays there throughout the rpm range.

Is there a huge margin, or are they engineered near their limited rpm?
