When you install a larger water pump pulley, sometimes there is a clearance
problem between the underside of the cylinder head and the pulley, and the head
must be
ground for clearance. Mostly race applications where the block deck and head
are planed excessively. There is plenty of clearance between the pulley
and thermostat housing.
