timing mark

Hello,---before I put the 1275 in the BI I was going to re-position the 
timing mark to a better place where I can see it without standing on my head. I 
was 
thinking of silver soldering a tab to the front cover. Will this method work 
or is it too weak. What have others done?  Bob C
